Energizes Mind and Body

Creating the piece

 Red Bull decided to launch a participative campaign to add a new slogan to its traditional motto, “Red Bull gives you wings.” The chosen slogan was “Energizes Body and Mind,” which ultimately became “Energizes Mind and Body.” Balancée’s concept was to maintain the brand’s signature playful tone, featuring a character who escapes a traffic jam to have a Red Bull and explore the city. Initially, the plan was to use full rotoscopy—a process that, at the time, would have required painstaking, frame-by-frame manual work. With tight deadlines, they opted for a shader that achieves a similar effect, while offering its own unique identity. The piece embodies Red Bull’s aura and relevance, and the character’s energy perfectly aligns with the new slogan.
